Heewing T1-S Ranger VTOL PNP is an FPV airplane with a 790 mm wingspan and vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capability, suitable for flying and longer flights from locations without a runway. It takes off and lands in multicopter mode, then tilts the front motors horizontally in the air and flies like a conventional airplane. It is a newer and larger generation of the T1 Ranger series — compared to the original model, it has longer wings for extended flight time, a roomier fuselage and a more durable construction. The model comes in a foam transport case, with a dedicated slot for each part.

The airframe is made of EPP foam, the fuselage is reinforced with a carbon rod and the tail surfaces are supported by a boom. The wings slide onto a carbon rod and click into the fuselage; quick-release connectors at the wing root connect the motors and servos, so cables do not need to be connected manually during assembly. The tail surfaces also feature quick-release mounting. The aileron linkages run along the top of the wing, making them less exposed during landing. The battery is secured to a mounting plate with hook-and-loop strap, while the rear opening in the fuselage allows an additional cooling fan to be fitted.

The power system consists of three 1806 2000KV motors with 5126 propellers — two tilting motors on the wings and one rear motor on the tail boom. Tilting is handled by V39 servos, the control surfaces are operated by lightweight 4.3g servos, and the motors are powered by Heewing 20A ESCs with BlHeli_S firmware. The model is designed exclusively for 4S batteries. Depending on the equipment installed, the take-off weight ranges from 600 to 950 grams.

The fuselage comes factory-fitted and preconfigured with an F405 flight controller running ArduPilot firmware and loaded VTOL parameters. It is configured in Mission Planner. It is factory-ready for ELRS/CRSF receivers and also works with SBUS after changing two parameters. A switch on channel 6 selects between QLOITER mode (hovering while holding position and altitude using GPS), FBWA (stabilized fixed-wing flight) and QRTL (automatic return and vertical landing at the take-off location). A GPS module is included and installs under the rear cover or in the nose. Before the first flight, simply connect and bind the receiver, calibrate the transmitter and set the flight modes. According to the manufacturer, the factory VTOL parameters are a starting point; we recommend checking and fine-tuning them before flight.

This is a PNP model: motors, ESCs, servos and flight controller are installed, and a GPS module is included. RC receiver, transmitter, battery, camera and video transmission system are not included.

Important notice: The VTOL must be powered by a 4S battery. Do not install or remove the wings while the power is on.
