VAS Minion Pro Long 5.8GHz - 100mm RHCP/LHCP SMA

VAS Minion Pro Long (SMA) is a small omnidirectional circularly polarized antenna for the 5.8GHz band with an SMA connector in an extended design. It is suitable for long-range, racing, and freestyle drones, and with a weight of 6.5g it will not burden even lightweight builds. It is available in RHCP and LHCP variants — the transmitting and receiving antennas must always have the same polarization.

The radiator uses a patented element (US Pat. 10,608,346 and 10,916,837) with a gain of 2.5dBic and an axial ratio of 0.95. The axial ratio indicates how accurately the emitted wave is circular; a value close to 1 means lower losses between transmitter and receiver and better suppression of reflections from terrain and obstacles. The antenna operates in the 5500-6000MHz range, covering commonly used FPV bands.

Compared to the short version, this variant has a longer SMA connector stem, which raises the radiator higher above the quadcopter frame or above the receiver body. This moves the radiator out of the shadow of carbon parts and improves signal propagation. The housing is made of durable radio-transparent plastic and protects the element in crashes. The antenna is manufactured in the USA and complies with NDAA — the U.S. standard for components used in government applications.
