Speedybee Smart Power Tester is an intelligent smoke stopper. The function of the smoke stopper is to interrupt the voltage supply in case of a short circuit (or high current consumption) and thus protect the electronics. It is mainly used for testing components or when first connecting the battery to a newly built drone. If you've made a mistake during soldering and there is a short circuit in the electronics, the smoke stopper will disconnect the power supply and ideally prevent component burnout. Unlike simple smoke stoppers (which can be a car bulb, for example), the Speedybee Smart Power Tester does not limit maximum current but completely shuts off the input voltage.
Maximum current for disconnecting power supply is adjustable to 1 or 2 amperes. Once this threshold is exceeded, the voltage supply will disconnect within milliseconds. The output voltage can also be turned off/on manually using a button. The current limit cannot be changed if the output is on. To change the level, first turn off the output. The Smart Power Tester is equipped with a display that shows voltage and current. When the output is set to 2 A and the current continuously exceeds 1.5 A for 60s, the output will automatically turn off to prevent circuit overload. An integrated 2A fuse provides additional protection in case of software protection failure. If the red indicator flashes, it means that the software protection has failed and there has been a short circuit or overcurrent, activating the secondary hardware protection. Immediately disconnect the battery.
