Radiomaster TX15 Max is a great radio suitable for beginner and top pilots. TX15 is a practical combination of size, comfort, and features. The Radiomaster TX15 uses large hall gimbals similar to the TX16 or Boxer models. For additional model control, there are 4 switches, 2 rotary knobs, 2 buttons (which can be replaced by switches), and one six-position channel controlled by buttons with adjustable LED backlighting. The radio setup is the same as other Radiomaster models using 6 buttons and a rotary knob. At first glance, the large 3.5" touch screen with a brightness of 600 nits catches the eye. Thanks to the powerful STM32H7 processor, the transmitter has a fast response. TX15 features internal memory that can be expanded with a MicroSD card. The radio uses fully customizable firmware EdgeTX (successor to OpenTX). The included case for the transmitter is also a nice touch. For future expansions, the transmitter is equipped with an integrated microphone. The transmitter also includes a built-in gyro. The built-in gyroscope with TiltX/TiltY functions unlocks advanced control options – it allows switching, rotating cameras (pan/tilt), or activating telemetry alerts simply by tilting the transmitter.
A significant advantage of the radio is the integrated ELRS module based on the Semtech LR1121 chip, which supports both 2.4GHz and 868MHz bands. The bands can be easily switched, allowing you to choose according to your needs. The 2.4GHz band is suitable for freestyle and racing flying with low latency, while the 868MHz band offers very long range.
ExpressLRS (abbreviated as ELRS) is an open-source project with transmission and reception modules manufactured by multiple manufacturers. ELRS is currently one of the most advanced RC transmissions. It offers a reliable link over long distances, high refresh rates, adjustable power, updates via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity, and more. Bluetooth is especially appreciated by simulator enthusiasts, as it allows connection to a PC wirelessly. The internal module is actively cooled by an internal fan. The foldable dual-band antenna facilitates transport.
On the back of the transmitter is a standard large JR bay for potential expansion with an external transmission module. TX15 is powered by a 2S battery. The package includes a bay for a pair of 18650 Li-Ion batteries. However, larger 2S batteries can also be used for longer endurance. The battery is charged via a USB-C connector, which also serves for firmware updates or connection to a simulator.
Compared to the standard version, the TX15 Max showcases AG02 CNC aluminum gimbals in anodized red, black, or gold colors, upgraded aluminum buttons, an aluminum rolling knob, and a case with a carbon look for a premium feel. Integrated RGB LED lights around the gimbals allow customizable lighting controlled by LUA scripts.
