ELRS Ranger is a high-end external ELRS module for radios with JR and Lite bays. ExpressLRS (shortened to ELRS) is an open source project, and the transmitting and receiving modules are produced by multiple manufacturers. ELRS is currently one of the most advanced RC transmissions. It offers a reliable link over long distances, high refresh rate, adjustable power, updates via WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity, and more. ELRS at 2.4GHz surpasses traditional RC systems in every aspect while maintaining short antennas. Bluetooth is particularly appreciated by simulator enthusiasts, as it allows for wireless connection to a PC.
The main advantage of the Radiomaster Ranger is its robustness. The body is milled from a durable piece of aluminum, which effectively dissipates heat and protects the electronics. Like all high-end modules, the Ranger also supports a 1000Hz refresh rate and output power of 1W (but uniquely has a hack for up to 2W). Another benefit is the OLED display and button. The module can be easily configured without the need for LUA scripts. There are also 2 adjustable buttons to speed up the workflow with the module. Active cooling for the module is a given. The Ranger comes without an adapter to snap into the bay. The package includes two adapters - for the larger JR bay and the smaller Lite bay. Thanks to the OLED display and the exposed pins on the bottom of the module, the Ranger can also be used with radios without a bay, such as certain Spektrum, Futaba, Frsky, or Flysky models with OpenTX. There is also a USB connector for easy updates and an XT30 connector for the possibility of external power supply for the module.
