MicoAir MA-RTK-BASE is a ground-based RTK reference station that transmits correction data for RTK modules on drones and robots. Without it, RTK does not work; the rover needs a source for corrections. The station is mounted on a tripod, automatically finds satellites, and starts transmitting standard RTCM corrections, allowing the rover to achieve centimeter-level accuracy. The package includes the RTK station, antenna, and tripod.

The principle is simple. The station stays in one place and measures how much the instantaneous GNSS position differs from the true one. It sends this difference as RTCM messages to the rover, which uses it to correct its position. After powering on, a survey-in process takes place, meaning the position is averaged, and once it is complete, the station automatically starts transmitting corrections. The default output frequency is 1Hz and can be changed in the UPrecise software.

The core is the triple-band UM982 receiver with support for L1, L2, and L5 and GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS systems. Because the station uses the same chip as the MA-RTK-AIR-982 rover module, the frequency coverage of both sides matches exactly. RTCM is a standard format, so the station also works with other MA-RTK-AIR series modules and RTK modules from other manufacturers that can process RTCM.

Corrections are output via two paths at once, through USB-C (UART1, CH340 converter) and through the GH1.25-4P connector (UART2, GND, VCC, TX2, RX2). After power-on, both interfaces transmit RTCM data simultaneously, so the station can be connected to a computer and a telemetry modem without switching. The default baud rate on both ports is 115200.

Power is supplied by two 21700 cells with a capacity of 5000mAh, which last approximately 12 hours of operation with an active RTK antenna and telemetry at an average power draw of 1W. There is no need to carry a power bank or power supply into the field. Charging is done via USB-C at up to 10W (5V/2A).

The station status is shown on the OLED display, specifically battery status, number of satellites, and current mode. It is complemented by power, charging, and PVT LED indicators, which stay on continuously after a position fix is acquired. It is turned on by holding the Power button; holding the Reset button while powering on restores the station to factory settings.

The antenna connects via an SMA connector. The enclosure is all-metal and designed for mounting on a tripod, so the station stands firmly and in the same position throughout the measurement. Dimensions are 103x63x35mm and weight 293g including batteries.
