iFlight Borg Mini F7 RX V1 with ELRS + 60A Borg 60RS V1.1 BL32 is a combination of a flight controller with an integrated ELRS receiver and a powerful 60A 4-in-1 ESC. The stack is particularly suitable for 5" racing drones powered by 4-8S LiPo / LiHV batteries. The flight controller connects to the ESC via an FPC cable. Other peripherals connect via SH1.0 connectors, simplifying the build and increasing connection reliability.
The flight controller is based on an STM32F722RET6 processor combined with an ICM42688P gyroscope. The board is also equipped with a Goertek SPA06-003 barometer for altitude measurement and 32MB blackbox memory. The board features an AT7456E OSD chip for analog video and a 9-pin connector for connecting digital video transmitters. It supports DJI MSP, HDZero, SmartAudio and IRC Tramp protocols. 6 UARTs are available. One is used by the integrated receiver and one is dedicated to ESC telemetry. The board also has an I2C bus for connecting a compass, an output for an LED strip and a solder pad for a buzzer. A USB-C connector is used for connection to a computer.
Accessory power is provided by a 5V/2,5A BEC and a 12V/2A BEC for the video transmitter. The 12V BEC is switchable, allowing the video transmitter to be turned off using a switch on the radio transmitter. This is useful in combination with GPS, as the video transmitter can be switched off while waiting for satellites to prevent overheating. Switching is activated by several commands in the Betaflight CLI.
ExpressLRS is an advanced open-source RC system with long range, low latency and a high refresh rate. The integrated receiver with ESP8285 and SX1281 chips operates at 2,4GHz and is connected to the flight controller via UART. It includes a TCXO – a temperature-compensated crystal that maintains a stable frequency even when temperatures change. Telemetry power is 17mW. The receiver uses an antenna integrated directly on the board as standard. An external antenna can optionally be connected via the IPEX1 (u.FL) connector. To use an external antenna, solder pads marked EX on the board must be bridged. The FC can also be used with an external ELRS receiver. In this case, the integrated receiver must be disabled by bridging the solder pads marked RX.
iFlight Borg 60RS is a powerful 4-in-1 ESC that supports 4-8S LiPo battery input. It can handle continuous current up to 60A. It is built on an 8-layer PCB with 3oz copper. Each motor is controlled by its own STM32G071N processor with an FD6288 MOSFET driver. Integrated antispark protects the connector from sparking when connecting the battery, while a protective TVS diode protects the electronics from voltage spikes. The ESC uses integrated polymer capacitors, so no external electrolytic capacitor is needed for 5" racing drones. This makes the build simpler and lighter. The ESC board is factory-coated with protective conformal coating.
The ESC uses BLHeli_32 firmware, which supports telemetry, bidirectional DShot and adjustable output PWM frequency. It accepts DShot150/300/600, MultiShot and OneShot input protocols. The ESC is not equipped with a current sensor.
