HDZero Radio is a compact transmitter with an integrated 2.4GHz ELRS module featuring adjustable power 10–250mW. The transmitter is suitable for beginner pilots as well as a travel or backup radio for experienced pilots. HDZero Radio has two three-position switches and four buttons, providing a total of 10 channels. For easy transport, the grips are removable and can be stored on the back of the radio. The battery is integrated with a capacity of 4000mAh, allowing for up to 10 hours of operation. The battery can be charged via a USB-C connector.
HDZero Radio does not use EdgeTX firmware. Instead, it runs on a proprietary FPV drone-focused operating system, providing quick access to frequently used settings. Firmware updates and ELRS version changes can be made via USB-C using the HDZero Programmer or standard ELRS tools. All ELRS configuration — packet rate, power, telemetry, switch mode, and VTX channel settings — take place directly on the radio through an intuitive menu on the 0.96" OLED display, which is readable even in direct sunlight. Binding is possible with a long press of the dedicated ELRS button. The radio supports ELRS Backpack for video channel synchronization between goggles, radio, and drone. There is also Bluetooth for wireless connection to a simulator and a 3.5mm DSC trainer connector for lessons with an instructor. The trainer port also supports head tracking input from compatible HDZero goggles. The default channel mapping is AETR with an option to switch to TAER. The radio is factory set to Mode 2 (left throttle), and the gimbals can be switched to Mode 1.
The package includes a hard protective case and a nylon neck strap.
