Happymodel Mobula 8 O4 Wide is a lightweight 2" HD whoop with DJI O4 Wide digital video transmission, suitable for flying indoors, in the garden, or in the park. Thanks to its ducted propellers and low weight of 55g without battery, it is relatively safe to fly even in smaller spaces. This is the latest version of the digital Mobula 8, differing from the previous Mobula 8 O4 mainly by its ultra-wide field of view camera.
The frame with an 85mm diagonal motor-to-motor distance features plastic prop guards that protect both the propellers and surroundings when contacting obstacles. The DJI O4 Wide unit is mounted in a canopy with an adjustable camera angle, allowing the tilt to be adapted to flight style and speed. Drone dimensions are 120x120x58mm.
The CrazyF405HD ELRS flight controller uses an STM32F405 processor, BMI270 gyro, barometer for altitude measurement, and 8MB blackbox memory. It also integrates voltage and current sensors. The drone is equipped with an ELRS receiver on 2.4GHz, connected via UART and updatable through ExpressLRS Configurator. ExpressLRS is an advanced open-source RC system with long range, low latency, and a high refresh rate. The board has integrated 12A ESCs with Bluejay firmware. Power is provided by EX1103 11000Kv motors combined with Gemfan Hurricane 2023 tri-blade propellers.
Video transmission is handled by DJI O4 Wide with a 1/2" sensor and FOV 159°, while the standard DJI O4 has a FOV of 117.6°. The wider view provides better awareness of the surroundings, especially when flying in tight spaces. Live video is transmitted at up to 1080p/100fps, and the unit supports recording in 4K/60fps, so there is no need to carry an external HD camera. The unit weighs approximately 13.3g. After reflashing the Betaflight firmware, the drone can also be controlled with a DJI controller.
Recommended batteries are 2S with a 550mAh capacity and XT30 connector. Batteries are not included.
Important notice: The DJI O4 camera uses a new generation of gyroscopes that are more sensitive to vibrations. This may affect the proper operation of RockSteady and Gyroflow stabilization.
