Fnirsi TDM-120 Thermal Camera

Fnirsi TDM-120 is a pocket thermal camera suitable for electronics diagnostics, locating shorts on boards, and checking heating in motors, ESCs, or batteries. Instead of time-consuming spot measurements with a thermometer, it displays a thermal map of the entire scene, so the overheated area is visible at a glance.

It is based on an uncooled detector made of vanadium oxide (VOx) with an infrared resolution of 120x90 pixels and a pixel size of 17µm. Thermal sensitivity of <60 mK means the camera can distinguish even small temperature differences in the image. The image refreshes at up to 25 Hz, so it remains smooth even while moving the camera. The lens has a 50° field of view.  For small components on a board, we recommend shooting from a distance of up to one meter.

It measures temperature in the range -20 to 400 °C (two ranges: -20 to 150 °C and 100 to 400 °C with automatic switching) with an accuracy of ±2 °C or ±2%. Emissivity is adjustable in the range 0.01–1, and you can also enter the target distance (0.5–3 m) and reflected temperature. In addition to the center point, the camera automatically tracks the hottest and coldest point in the scene and can alert you with an alarm when the set temperature is exceeded. For maximum measurement accuracy, we recommend letting the camera stabilize to operating temperature for several minutes after powering on.

It is controlled via a 2.8" touchscreen LCD supplemented by two buttons — the power button and a shutter button for saving the image. There are 7 color palettes to choose from (Arctic, Hot Iron, Iron Red, Rainbow, Lava, Black Hot and White Hot). Images are saved at 320x240 resolution to a microSD card. When connected via USB-C, the camera appears as a flash drive, so data can be downloaded without installing additional software. On the bottom of the metal-chassis body there is a standard 1/4" tripod mount and a folding stand, allowing the camera to be tilted on a table.

Power is provided by a built-in 1500 mAh Li-Po battery charged via USB-C. The menu offers English, auto power off (5/10/20 minutes or off), and display brightness settings.
