Flywoo Firefly 20PRO O4 Wide is an agile 2" micro drone for 4S batteries with DJI O4 Wide digital video transmission, suitable for fast freestyle and flying in tight spaces. Thanks to its weight of 99 g and a diagonal motor distance of 105 mm, it can be flown in the garden, in the park, or in a larger hall.
The drone is built on a lower carbon plate with a thickness of 2.5 mm, whose arms are cut from a single piece and reinforced in the front, making them better able to withstand bending in a crash. The electronics on the sides are protected by plastic side plates, which can be installed and removed by hand without tools and also cover the wiring. The motor cables run in enclosed protective tubes, so the propellers cannot cut them in a rollover. The top plate carries the complete video unit with antenna, and after loosening four screws it can be moved to the Firefly 25MINI frame without soldering. The camera is mounted on rubber soft mounts, which minimize vibration transfer for smooth video and easy stabilization in Gyroflow, and its tilt is adjustable in the range of 0-25°.
Control is handled by the Flywoo GOKU F405 SE 3-4S 20A AIO board with an STM32F405 processor, BMI270 gyro, SPL06 barometer for altitude measurement, and 8 MB of memory for Blackbox. The integrated ESCs handle up to 20 A and run on Bluejay firmware. The board is equipped with a pair of BECs (10V/2A and 5V/2A), which are used to power peripherals. All peripherals (GPS, RC receiver, video transmitter) connect via connectors without the need for soldering. It also includes a buzzer for easier locating after a crash in tall grass. RC transmission is provided by an external ELRS receiver on the 2.4 GHz frequency. Power is delivered by ROBO 1303 6000 Kv motors with a 1.5 mm shaft in combination with Gemfan 2023-3 tri-blade propellers. The USB-C connector is located on the underside of the board.
Video transmission is handled by the DJI O4 Wide Air Unit. Compared to the standard O4 unit, it has a built-in wide-angle lens with a field of view of 159°, which provides a much clearer image, especially on small drones. The camera uses a 1/2" CMOS sensor and records in 4K/60 fps to the built-in memory, so there is no need to carry an external HD camera. The image can be stabilized directly in flight with DJI RockSteady, or later in Gyroflow.
The video unit is intended for use with DJI Goggles 3 or DJI Goggles N3 and DJI Controller 3. It can also be used with DJI Goggles 2 or DJI Integra and DJI Controller 2. In that case, however, Racemode is not available and the maximum bitrate is limited to 50 Mbps.
Recommended batteries are 4S LiHV with a capacity of 450-750 mAh and an XT30 connector. Batteries are not included.
Important notice: The DJI O4 camera uses a new generation of gyros that are more sensitive to vibrations. This may affect the proper functioning of RockSteady and Gyroflow stabilization.
