FlyingRC BEC 2-6S 5A step-down is a compact voltage converter for powering receivers, servos, cameras, video transmitters and other onboard electronics directly from the main battery. The input voltage corresponds to 3-6S LiPo. The input must always be at least 0.8V higher than the set output, otherwise the converter will only provide the input voltage reduced by 0.8V.

The output voltage is selected by bridging solder pads. Open pads mean the default 5V, bridging the middle pad with the left gives 6.2V, with the top 7.4V and with the right 9V. The actual voltage for these three options is slightly lower — 5.9V, 6.9V and 8.9V.

Without a heatsink and airflow, the converter delivers a continuous 4A on the 5V, 6.2V and 7.4V outputs and 3.5A on 9V.

The regulation is controlled by the Monolithic Power MP9447 — an integrated step-down converter with the controller and switching MOSFETs in one package. Thanks to this, the whole module measures only 28.9x17.7mm and weighs 4.3g, so it fits even into tight builds. The board is double-layer, 1.60mm thick, with 1µm immersion gold finish.

The package includes a 330µF 10V solid capacitor, which is soldered into the through holes near the output.

Important warning: The capacitor must be soldered with the correct polarity. Reverse polarity will destroy it.
