FlyingRC AM32 Mini ESC 40A V1 is a standalone controller for one motor, suitable for FPV drones or model airplanes. The controller supports 2-6S LiPo batteries and handles a continuous current of 40A.

The controller is built on a 6-layer PCB with 2oz copper on both inner and outer layers, for a total of 12oz. The vias are resin-filled, and the design is complemented by immersion gold and exposed copper areas on both the positive and negative power paths, which help dissipate heat. It uses 6 HYG022N04LS1C1 MOSFETs with an on-state resistance of only 2.0mΩ.

At its core is a 32-bit QF32F4AK8U7 processor clocked at 120MHz with an integrated ID6288 gate driver. Integrating the driver directly into the processor package saves board space, leaving more room for the power section. The controller comes preloaded with AM32 firmware and supports DShot150/300/600, OneShot, and PWM protocols. The firmware offers sinusoidal startup and rotor stall protection (“stall protection”), thanks to which the motor delivers high torque at low RPM — especially useful for builds with low-RPM motors and RC cars. Configuration and firmware flashing are done on a computer using the AM32 offline configurator; a flight controller or USB adapter is required to connect to a PC. The controller does not include a BEC.

Connection is solder-only, with pads S, G, V+, V-, A, B, and C on the board. Power filtering is provided by 26.4uF in the form of twelve ceramic capacitors directly on the board, and the package also includes a 220uF/35V electrolytic capacitor, which we recommend connecting as close as possible to the power pads.

Important notice: The controller must not be wrapped in heat shrink or otherwise modified. This would prevent heat exchange with the surroundings.

The firmware must not be flashed through the AM32 web configurator.
