DeepSpace DS 5.8G 3W VTX (also designated by the manufacturer as TALOS 5.8G 3W VTX) is a powerful analog video transmitter with output power up to 3W and 20x20mm M2 mounting holes, suitable for long-range drones requiring long range and a stable image over long distances. The high output power is complemented by active cooling with a built-in fan.

Output power can be switched between PIT/25/200/400/800/1600/3000mW levels. PIT mode is used for transmitting at minimum power — useful when setting up the drone on the ground or at the start of a race so the transmitter does not interfere with other pilots in the air. Levels up to 800mW cover regular freestyle flying, while 1,6W and 3W are intended for long-range flights. The video transmitter operates in the 5,3-5,9GHz range on 48 channels across six bands with eight channels each. In addition to standard bands including Raceband, it also offers the low band 5362-5621MHz. The video transmitter can be configured using the FREQ and PWR buttons or more conveniently through the flight controller via the IRC Tramp protocol. The current channel, band, and output power are indicated by colored LEDs on the side of the transmitter.

The video transmitter is enclosed in a CNC-machined aluminum housing with a finned heatsink that dissipates heat and protects sensitive components. The built-in turbo fan draws air in from above and blows it through the heatsink fins, allowing the transmitter to handle continuous output power up to 3W. The 7-35V input voltage allows direct power supply from the drone battery. A 5V output with 0,5A current is available for powering the camera. The video transmitter connects to the flight controller via the included 6-pin SH1.0 cable (power, GND, DATA for IRC Tramp, video, GND, and 5V output). The antenna connects via an MMCX connector, and an MMCX-SMA pigtail is included. Antenna not included. The transmitter measures 38x37x15,5mm and weighs 21,5g without antenna.

Do not power on the video transmitter without an antenna connected. Operating without an antenna will cause irreversible damage to the transmitter output stage.
