AtomRC Beluga is a twin-engine aircraft with a wingspan of 1270mm, suitable mainly for longer and more relaxed flights. The aircraft is made from EPP material reinforced with carbon. EPP is highly durable and can be easily glued in case of damage.
Beluga features a conventional layout. The model is equipped with independently controlled ailerons, dual elevator, rudder, and flaps. Optionally, it can be fitted with a retractable landing gear (not included). The aerodynamically shaped fuselage with a large internal space allows easy installation of FPV equipment or additional components, while also reducing air resistance. The classic airframe shape with trapezoidal wing profile contributes to extended flight time and efficient lift transfer. The removable canopy provides easy access to electronics and allows installation of an FPV camera for a more realistic first-person view.
In the center section between the wings, there is a bottom-mounted compartment for the flight controller, receiver, and other accessories. Under the canopy, there is a space of 82x230x45mm for the battery. To achieve long flight durations, a 6S1P-6S2P Li-ion battery made of 21700 cells can be used. Above the wings, there is space for an analog video transmitter with sufficient airflow for cooling. The wings are easily detachable to simplify transportation. LED lights are built into the wingtips to improve orientation and visibility of the aircraft in flight.
The Beluga comes in RTH configuration – it already includes installed motors, ESCs, servos, and a flight controller with GPS module. Assembly is therefore very simple. You only need to add an RC receiver and optionally FPV gear.
