The DJI O3 Air Unit is the next generation of the revolutionary DJI FPV system and takes video capabilities a step further. DJI O3 will offer transmission in a resolution of up to 1080p while maintaining a frame rate of 100Hz, a latency of 30ms, a data flow of 50Mbps and H.265 encoding. A camera with a 1/1.7" sensor and a FOV of 155° ensures a top-quality image. The power supply is possible in the range of 7.4-26.4V (2-6S). The camera is connected to the video transmitter with a 115mm cable.
The DJI O3 promises greater range and better video than the previous generation. The system can automatically select the frequency band to use the optimal signal and provides excellent anti-interference properties. DJI O3 now also supports Canvas mode, where it is possible to display the full Betaflight OSD. Compared to the previous version, the O3 is also smaller and lighter. The entire video transmission weighs 39.5g. 2 antennas connected by u.FL connector are used for transmission. For easy installation, DJI included both antennas in one case.
However, the biggest step forward is the ability to record. The DJI O3 Air Unit is not only a video transmission, but also a recording camera. The Air Unit has an internal memory of 20GB, which can be supplemented with an SD card. So you can record on board the drone in a resolution of up to 4K/60fps. The image can be stabilized with DJI's internal RockSteady stabilization or later with Gyroflow. In addition to video, the DJI O3 also records data from the gyroscope. Another great feature is the ability to use ND filters. The DJI O3 camera can be used with a set of ND filters from DJI Avata. The recording also supports the D-Cinelike color profile designed for advanced color grading in post-production.
The DJI O3 Air Unit is compatible with DJI FPV V2 glasses, DJI FPV 2 and the DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 transmitter. This will be especially appreciated by DJI FPV drone owners, who can now use the existing goggles and radio.
