Walksnail Ascent Lite Kit

Walksnail Ascent Lite Kit is a combination of camera and video transmitter for the Walksnail Ascent digital video transmission system.

Walksnail Ascent is an HD system designed primarily for beginner and recreational pilots looking for a cost-effective alternative to analog video transmission. Ascent is a standalone system and is not compatible with the Walksnail Avatar system. It supports transmission modes 720p / 120fps for lower latency (recommended) and 1080p / 60fps for higher image quality. The system is mainly suitable for shorter-range flights, where it offers a much cleaner and more stable image than analog. Ascent supports OSD for Betaflight, iNAV and Ardupilot. There are 3 standard channels available and up to 8 channels in debug mode.

Walksnail Ascent Lite Kit is a small unit suitable for larger tinywhoops or smaller 2–4″ freestyle FPV drones. The Lite kit can be powered within the range of 3–12,6V. The kit can be connected to any flight controller via UART. The unit uses a Nano size camera (14 mm). The camera is equipped with a 1/2,8″ sensor and provides a diagonal FOV of up to 147°. The transmitter unit has 25 × 25 mm mounting holes for easy stack mounting. Maximum transmitter output is 100 mW. The transmitter unit is connected to the camera by a cable 90 mm long. The antenna is connected via a u.FL connector. A basic linear antenna is included. For freestyle drones, we strongly recommend equipping the video transmitter with a larger antenna with LHCP polarization.

Before first use, we recommend checking and, if necessary, updating the unit firmware via CaddxPCTool. Like other small digital video transmitters, the video transmitter heats up very quickly. Air must flow around the video transmitter to cool it. Therefore, when setting up the drone or updating FW, use a fan.
