Walksnail Ascent Lite Kit

Walksnail Ascent Lite Kit is a combination of a camera and video transmitter for the digital image transmission system Walksnail Ascent.

Walksnail Ascent is an HD system suitable mainly for beginner and recreational pilots looking for a cost-effective alternative to analog video transmission. Ascent is a standalone system and is not compatible with the Walksnail Avatar system. It allows transmission in 720p / 120fps mode for lower latency (recommended) and 1080p / 60fps mode for higher image quality. The system is mainly suitable for shorter distance flights, where it offers significantly cleaner and more stable images compared to analog. Ascent supports OSD for Betaflight, iNAV, and Ardupilot. There are 3 standard channels and up to 8 channels in debug mode.

Walksnail Ascent Lite Kit is a small unit suitable for larger tinywhoops or smaller 2–4″ freestyle FPV drones. The Lite kit can be powered in the range of 3–12.6V. The kit can be connected to any flight controller via UART. The unit uses a Nano sized camera (14 mm). The camera is equipped with a 1/2.8″ sensor and provides a diagonal FOV of up to 147°. The transmitter unit has mounting holes of 25 × 25 mm for easy stacking. The maximum transmission power is 100 mW. The transmitter unit is connected to the camera via a 90 mm cable. The antenna is connected via a u.FL connector. A basic linear antenna is included in the package. For freestyle drones, we highly recommend equipping the video transmitter with a larger antenna with LHCP polarization.

Before first use, it is advisable to check and possibly update the firmware of the unit using the CaddxPCTool. The video transmitter, like other small digital video transmitters, heats up very quickly. Air must flow around the video transmitter to cool it. When setting up the drone or updating the firmware, please use a fan.
