The Flyfish Volador II VD5 O4 is a robust freestyle frame. It features the VD5 deadcat configuration with 5" propellers. Thanks to the deadcat layout, the front arms are shifted outward and backward, ensuring that the propellers are not visible in HD footage or FPV feed. The 5" freestyle frame category is the most popular and versatile – suitable for aggressive freestyle, casual flying, and HD camera filming.
The frame is cut from premium T700 carbon fiber, which offers better strength than the commonly used T300 carbon. The arms are cut from 6mm thick carbon, providing enhanced crash resistance and reduced vibration transfer from the motors to the flight controller. The frame is exceptionally well finished – edges are chamfered to prevent cables from being cut. Screws are made of durable grade 12.9 steel and come pre-coated with Loctite, ensuring they stay tight and won’t loosen due to vibrations. The camera is protected by a metal mount made from strong 7075 aluminum alloy, commonly used in high-quality motors. The camera is held in a silicone insert that absorbs vibrations and improves video quality. The frame includes many 3D-printed parts, such as arm guards, a GoPro mount, and a GPS holder. A silicone pad on the top plate increases friction between the frame and battery, minimizing the chance of battery ejection during a crash. The fixed mounting of the XT60 connector in the top plate is also a highlight – keeping battery wires safely away from the propellers.
The frame features M3 mounting holes for 20x20mm and 30.5x30.5mm stacks. The rear section includes space for a second stack with M2 20x20mm or 25.5x25.5mm mounting. The frame supports analog video, Walksnail Avatar, DJI O3, and DJI O4 Pro systems.
Printed parts are supplied in black.
